Life Behind the Music

Kathy Davett Horry believes music is very salubrious. It heals, delivers, encourages, restores, and inspires you to trust God and believe in yourself. Born in Battle Creek, Michigan, she has become a beacon of God's light, using her anointed voice and musical gifts to transform lives.

With a gracious, soft-spoken presence and a well-poised demeanor, Kathy brings authenticity, faith, and excellence to every lesson, performance, and interaction. Her personal journey—chronicled in her faith-filled book "From Grace To Glory"—provides tools, wisdom, and spiritual guidance for living a praise-filled, prayerful, and joyful life.

Today, as Director of Music at the Ark of Safety Christian Church in St. Charles, Missouri, and Founder of KDH Productions and the GIFTED nonprofit, Kathy continues her mission to develop young musicians and inspire spiritual growth through the power of music.

1970s

Beginnings in Battle Creek

Born in Battle Creek, Michigan, Kathy discovered her love of music early, developing an anointed voice and natural gift for performance and instruction.

1980s–90s

Professional Recording Career

Recording artist with Warner Brothers Records and CBS/TABU Records in Burbank, California, establishing herself as a professional gospel and music artist.

2000s

Church Leadership & Education

Served as Director of Music at From the Heart Church Ministries Mega Church in Temple Hills, Maryland. Earned degrees in Nonprofit Administration and Music/Psychology.

2005

GIFTED Vision Birthed

Vision for GIFTED (God's Intelligent Fortified Talented and Educated Dreamers) begins brewing, combining her passion for music mentoring and youth development.

2009

GIFTED Launched

GIFTED 501(c)(3) nonprofit officially launched, serving disadvantaged youth ages 5–21 through performing arts, education, and sports. Still operating and thriving today with 200+ alumni.

2015+

KDH Productions & Current Work

Founded KDH Productions, LLC for private music lessons and artist production. Became Director of Music at Ark of Safety Christian Church in St. Charles, MO. Author of "From Grace To Glory."

Kathy is a devoted wife to Pastor Raymond D. Horry and proud mother of three adult children: Raymond Jr., Raynard, and Witney. She is deeply rooted in her faith community and family values, which inform every decision in her business and ministry work.

When not teaching, producing artists, or running GIFTED, you'll find Kathy in prayer, reading, or spending quality time with family. She is an avid reader of faith-based literature and draws inspiration from daily spiritual practice.
